2004 Chevrolet Avalanche pictureA direct descendant of the Chevy Silverado, the new 2006 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche is one of the most innovative vehicles on the road today. As you can see from the Avalanche photo above, this vehicle is part SUV and part truck, the best of all worlds, with dozens of Avalanche accessories and the uncanny ability to switch easily between the two. The back of the SUV-like passenger compartment is actually a foldable gate that further expands storage. There's also a three-piece, removable cargo cover effectively transforming the 2006 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche bed into an oversized, lockable trunk. In some circles, this vehicle is even known as an SUT - a Sport Utility Truck. Whatever you call it, when you buy a Chevy Avalanche, you're getting a four-door sport-utility cabin mated to a shortened, 5-foot, 3-inch cargo bed; a vehicle that looks great, no matter where you take it.

What distinguishes the improved 2006 2007 2007 Avalanche specs more than anything, of course, is its engine. In this regard, our Avalanche review highlights what every other Avalanche review points out - the Avalanche and power just seem to go together. The Vortec 5300 V8 SFI engine in Avalanche 1500 models produces 285 horsepower, delivering more standard horsepower than Ford SuperCrew, Ford Explorer Sport Trac or Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab. The Vortec 8100 V8 SFI engine, standard in the Avalanche 2500, has more torque than V8 or V10 gasoline engines from Ford or Dodge. The standard Vortec 5300 V8 SFI engine in the Avalanche 1500 delivers 325 pounds-per-foot of torque at 4000 rpm. The engine's sparkplugs are guaranteed by Chevrolet for 100,000 miles, and engine coolant and belts are guaranteed even longer - for 150,000 miles. A nodular iron crankshaft in the Vortec 5300 V8 and Big Block Vortec 8100 V8 features internal balancing, which reduces stress on the high-capacity crankshaft. Lastly, a standard engine hour meter indicates how long your engine has been in use - a feature you will really appreciate, especially if your truck spends a lot of time idling.

But there's more to the 2006 2007 Chevy Avalanche than what you'll find under the hood, including a host of Avalanche accessories that come in handy under any conditions. Some of these Avalanche accessories include cargo box lights, rear step-bumper, grab handles and other features that make this one easy-to-use vehicle.
